Cardboard is old

Forms of business cards date back to the 1500’s. So why do we still use them?

Because they are effective and convenient, but what if they could last longer and be seen more…

Mech Labs has been developing an interactive business card that won’t turn brown with tattered edges, won’t be left in the miscellaneous bits office drawer and won’t be tossed in the rubbish bin.

The design is a standard 85mm by 55mm business card with four small LED’s on the front face. On the rear, four buttons allow users to play four different games. The total thickness is approximately 6mm. Both faces have ample space for your contact details, logo, business message and more.

First there was

At first there were breadboards, then there were prototypes. We manufactured mistakes and learnt from them, now we have the RetroFlat V1.2

This small key chain has allowed our test group to trial games on a four button and LED configuration. It has proven to be very successful by identifying programmed games that were less entertaining and inspiring replacements. Additionally it has been a prototype for testing hardware and gaining feedback.

If you are looking for a very small device that could be shaped with the outline of your logo, this is it.

Although there were more variations in between, all inventions start out as rough prototypes before they get to production.
